99% of students felt FSSP helped them make a "successful transition to the UCSB campus."

97% of students felt FSSP was effective in helping them "learn how to fit into University life."

96% of students felt FSSP helped them "gain confidence that (they) can succeed (at UCSB)."

FSSP students were asked, "What were the best qualities of the program?"

"Getting a head start, taking classes, living here and experiencing what it was like…I’m definitely reassured I’ll do well here. It was a less stressed time to focus, explore and determine my goals here and what I want to do."

"I thought the attention we received from different aspects of University life was great. I felt cared for as a student, rather than just a number."

"Definitely meeting people in a smaller setting and experiencing school on a smaller scale to get accustomed to it."

"Everything! I’m so glad I decided to come. My transition to college was so much easier with less people and smaller classes."

"Social Life. I will no longer feel intimidated on campus. I already have a large group of friends."

In addition to this, the social and extracurricular activities allowed me to establish social connections before school started in the fall. During those six short weeks, I had a blast and made several lifelong friends. I would not trade my FSSP experience for the world!"
