Friends of the Institute (Les Amis de l'Institut)
Les Amis de l'Institut —the Friends of the UCSB Summer Institute of French and Francophone Studies is a support group for the Institute founded by the late Yvonne Jordan. During the summer months, Friends of the Institute have unique opportunities to attend a number of special events at the Institute, including lectures on French culture and current events, concerts, theatrical performances, receptions, and soirées featuring classic French movies and discussions.
You are cordially invited to join Les Amis de l'Institut. Your membership fee will provide many educational and social opportunities for you during the summer, and will help to fund scholarships for meritorious students who study at the Institute. This coming year, fees for housing and tuition will continue to rise. Meanwhile, there are excellent French Institute students who have difficulty completing their three year commitment without some scholarship assistance. Alternatively, consider making a gift to the Institute. Gifts make it possible for us to widen access to the quality graduate education provided by the Institute of French and Francophone Studies and to attract a diverse group of students. All gifts to the Institute qualify for charitable tax deduction status.
