Health Emergency Care - The host families know of the hospitals in there area if an emergency is required. Students need to ask the host families the local of the nearest hospital. Also Lic. Bravo Rubio can provide this information to students upon request.
- Health Insurance- UC Student Off-Campus Travel Accident Insurance is available. Students must register by going to www.uctravel.org and filling out the "Business Traveler Insurance" form. Click here for more information.
- Drugs and Alcohol - Since the students are considered adults under Mexican Law we can only prohibit the consumption of ALCOHOL and DRUGS during the class room settings and the Tours. We will have a strong presentation by Lic. Bravo Rubio at the first class meeting regarding these subjects in regards to the students attending Discos, bars Querétaro, Mexico on their own time.
- Women's Issues- speak with Ms. Bravo about social customs, etc. while in Mexico.
- How to contact the Doctor- you may choose to visit the doctor while in Querétaro located next to the Farmacia Similares at Calle 16 de Septiembre No. 8 Colonia El Centro.
- Health Problems sometimes affect visitors to Mexico. Information on health precautions can be obtained from local health departments or private doctors. For the most current information on immunizations and health risks, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention maintains an international travelers hotline which you can access on the web at http://www.cdc.gov/. Please check with your personal doctor before leaving the States regarding immunizations which are normally recommended against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, typhoid, and hepatitis.
- Air pollution in Mexico is severe. Mexico City is not only at a high altitude but also has polluted air quality.
