Research Mentorship Program: Application and Admission

To be accepted into the Research Mentorship Program, high school students must meet the following requirements:

• Completed the 10 th, 11 th, or 12 th grade,
• Completed a minimum of 12 academic semester courses (or the equivalent in University of California a-g requirements)
• Have a minimum 3.5 GPA in UC a-g requirements.

• an application form and the $75 non-refundable application fee
• your official transcript
• a recommendation letter from a current teacher (two teachers preferred)
• a recommendation letter from a counselor/principal
• a complete an Research Mentorship Program Questionnaire (please type, & use additional page as needed)
• a personal statement – tell us about your academic plans, what/who is important to you academically, and why you are interested in this program
• Scholarship Form (optional)

Residential Students: If you plan to be a residential student, upon receiving an acceptance e-mail from the UCSB-RMP Director you will also hear from Summer Discovery Inc. regarding residential arrangements. Summer Discovery is a company that has been contracted by UCSB over the past 5 summers to manage the UCSB Pre-College Programs' residential needs.
