* Please be aware that for the first time this summer, some courses may have a separate three-hour final exam scheduled on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday that follows the last course meeting. Check with the department or instructor for more information.


Monday, April 6 (8:00 am)
Priority Registration Period begins for UC continuing students on GOLD. There are no appointments to register for Summer Sessions courses; registration is accepted in the order received. See Application and Registration Process. Students from other UC campuses will be e-mailed registration information shortly after applying. Students must submit a legible e-mail address during the application process.

Monday, April 13
The Summer 2009 Financial Aid Application is available on-line at www.finaid.ucsb.edu. This form must be submitted electronically.

Thursday, April 30
Priority Registration Period ends for UC continuing students.

Friday, May 1 (8:00 am)
Open Registration Period begins. Registration on-line (GOLD) opens for all Summer Sessions students.

Friday, May 29
Financial Aid Priority Deadline. Priority filing deadline to submit a 2009 Summer Financial Aid Application.

Monday, June 15
Application & Registration Deadline
Application Deadline. Last day to apply to Summer Sessions 2009. (Please allow a few days for processing to avoid the $50 Late Registration Fee.) After this date everyone, including Spring Quarter registered students, must complete the Summer Sessions Application form.

Regular Registration Period ends. Last day to register to avoid a $50 Late Registration Fee. Students must be registered for all courses in each session they choose to attend. Students registering after this date should go to https://mybarc.ucsb.edu to get their updated summer charges.

Tuesday, June 16
Late Registration period begins. Students who begin registration on this date or after will receive a $50 late registration fee.

Minimum Enrollment Deadline. All courses not reaching their minimum enrollment by this date are subject to cancellation. Some courses may have different minimum enrollment deadlines.

Monday, June 22
First day of instruction for Sessions A, C, and D courses.

Friday, June 26
Late-Registration Period ends.

Last day to petition for approval for an Excess Load (more than 16 units at any one time during the summer).

Monday, June 29
Summer Financial Aid Application and Revision Deadline. Last day to submit your Summer Financial Aid Application Form and revisions to the Financial Aid Office.

Friday, July 3
Independence Day Holiday. No classes are scheduled and all campus offices are closed.

Monday, July 6
Last day to declare candidacy for the Summer 2009 undergraduate degree. Use GOLD to make this declaration (http://my.ucsb.edu/home/gold.aspx).

Beginning on this date, anyone enrolling for the first time in Summer Sessions 2009 must complete a Summer Sessions Application and Summer Sessions Late Registration/Late Add Petition (pink sheet). Upon completion of forms, all fees are due at that time.

Wednesday, July 15 (4:00 pm) Fee-Payment Deadline
Fee-Payment Deadline. Students are responsible for full payment of all Summer Sessions fees. Since BARC no longer sends out paper statements, students will receive an electronic statement (E-Bill), please go to MyBARC to confirm the “amount due” for the students summer charges. A $50 Late-Payment is assessed for payments received after 4:00 pm on this date. Students who have not completed payment of the “amount due” are subject to dis-enrollment from their courses and will be lapsed from Summer Sessions. Lapsed students are assessed a $35 Re-Registration Fee and a $50 Late-Payment Fee, if they are allowed to re-register.

Sunday, August 9
Summer Sessions grades for “Sessions A, D and E” courses are available on GOLD.

Monday, September 7
Labor Day Holiday. No classes are scheduled and all campus offices are closed.

Friday, September 11
Last day of summer instruction.

Degree candidates must have all transfer work and coursework completed no later than this date for summer graduation.

Last day to submit Incomplete Petitions with instructor signature at the Office of the Registrar by 4:00 pm.

Sunday, September 20
Summer Sessions grades for “Session B, C, F and G” courses are available on GOLD.
