International Student Enrollment:
Summer Sessions at UC Santa Barbara offers open enrollment to all qualified domestic and international university students. For international students, studying at UCSB requires a valid I-20/F-1 visa. If you need to apply for a summer-only I-20/F-1 visa to attend the summer term, please prepare the following documentation prior to beginning the Summer Sessions application. They will be required to complete your application:
Copy of your passport
Completed Office of International Students and Scholar (OISS) I-20 Request form.
Completed confirmation of Financial Resources form (Note: A minimum of $1650 per month is required).
Proof of English proficiency (see acceptable documentation below).
Applications open February 1st.

The following exams with minimum scores can be used to document English proficiency:
Internet-based test: 80
Paper-based test: 550
Deadlines to Apply for a Summer-Only I-20/F-1 Visa
April 6th: Application due date if you plan on taking courses in Session A, C, D, or E.
May 4th: Application due date if you plan on taking courses in Session B, F, or G.
Note: Newly admitted international students enrolled in the Freshman Summer Start Program (FSSP) or Transfer Summer should consult the OISS website for instructions.
