With an open enrollment policy, relatively low fees and a broad array of courses that all carry full academic credit, Summer Sessions at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) offers unique opportunities for international students. The program attracted over 8800 students in Summer 2007. Class sizes are smaller and the less crowded summer courses make for an enjoyable learning experience. UCSB summer courses are taught by regular rank UCSB faculty and many of the same instructors who teach in the other academic terms at UCSB. In Summer 2008, over 600 courses will be offered between June 23 and September 12, 2008. Most courses will be offered in two six-week sessions:
Visas For International Students
The Office of Summer Sessions does not issue the I-20 Form which is necessary to obtain a Student (F-1) visa, so all international students considering taking courses at UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) must enroll through UCSB Extension.
