Selecting Your Courses

All new transfer students need academic advising before enrolling in courses. The academic advisor in your home department and/or College is trained to review your transcript and tell you what courses you must take to meet the requirements for your major and/or your college requirements.

You should plan to discuss your summer coursework with your advisor as soon as possible. We highly recommend that you attend one of the following UCSB events when you can talk to an advisor about your summer courses--

April 4 : UCSB's Spring Insight. For more information:   www.admissions.ucsb.edu/openhouse.asp

April 27, May 22, June 5 : Spotlight-on-Summer. For more information, go to our Summer Information Day page.

May 8 or 15: These Gaucho Transfer Friday events feature a Spotlight -on-Summer presentation at 10:30-Noon. For more information, go to our Summer Information Day page.

If you cannot attend one of these events, and you want to enroll in summer courses, you should contact your advisor either by phone or email right away. Due to an expected high demand for summer courses, it is likely that many courses will fill quickly.
