Welcome to UCSB
We encourage you, as a newly-admitted transfer student, to get a head start by starting UCSB in the summer. You'll make progress toward your degree, get familiar with campus while it's uncrowded, adjust to the pace of the quarter system, and get familiar with the services that support your academic and career goals. You can work with academic advisors to plan your coursework, explore job opportunities, find housing, and be ready for the challenges of your upper division coursework in the Fall.
You can also take advantage of the activities that Transitions offers to make your transition to UCSB a success. Throughout the summer, you can attend workshops, meet with transfer peers and advisors, and participate in other activities designed to help new transfer students connect to the campus.
We hope that every newly-admitted transfer student will think seriously about getting a head start, and getting on the path to a successful transfer.
