The second year is critical for students who want to make the most of their college experience. Having gotten past the challenges and confusion of freshman year, the time is right to start thinking about taking full advantage of everything UCSB has to offer.  In "The Second Year Experience," students learn about how to engage with UCSB's mission and the exciting work being done here, from the administration to the generation of new knowledge to the production of creative projects. They'll explore opportunities to participate in undergraduate research, internships, the Honors Program, and study abroad, as well as discuss the various resources available to help them excel academically. Finally, through working with student mentors, academic advisors, and counselors, the course culminates in students developing a roadmap for their final three years that focuses on completing their degrees while also achieving their personal and co-curricular goals.
